58th Genoa International Boat Show (20th - 25th of September 2018)

By Thomas P.

Genoa returned to its legendary maritime tradition for one week, attracting the look of the entire sea-world, proving once again that its Boat Show is a leading global event.

148,224 visitors, 884 brands, 1,100 boats, 32 countries represented and more than 3,428 sea trials.
This was the official report of Genoa's Boat Show last year, which filled with optimistic messages the future of the exhibition. Since May, 98% of last year's exhibitors had confirmed their re-participation, while 64% of them had requested more space. In addition, new exhibitors from Italy and abroad were joined.

Success was therefore expected for the 58th Genoa Boat Show and translated into a magnificent celebration of the sea that took place from 20 to 25 September 2018.

For six days, in a very warm and friendly atmosphere created by organizers, exhibitors and visitors, the friends of the sea had the unique opportunity to see and get acquainted with all the new products as well as to try out many of the boats in the open sea.

The upper floor of the central B Pavilion hosted the world of accessories, components and electronic devices while on the ground floor we met all the outboard engines companies among those of the rigid inflatable boats.
Right in front of the B Pavilion, there were many ribs in the row, ready to welcome prospective buyers and show off their offshore performance.

Regarding the rigid inflatable boats, many new models were presented in all categories, most of which are designed with an orientation to comfortable living on the deck without altering their open character.
As expected, in the field of outboard engines the new 425hp Yamaha V8 XTO Offshore, drew the attention, which was the protagonist of the 58th Boat Show.

Suzuki announced and introduced its new 150 and 175hp engines, while at the Mercury pavilion we had the opportunity to see the whole range of its new generation 4.6L V8 engines.
For the first time, sea friends had the opportunity to see the powerful 627-horsepower Seven Marine outboard motors, which received CE certification a few days ago and so they can be sold within the European Union.

...keep Ribbing!
