Suzuki launches the all-new DF 300B dual-prop (August 23, 2019)
Suzuki Motor Corporation is pleased to announce the introduction of the all–new DF300B, which is the latest outboard model to join Suzuki’s existing ‘GEKI’ series of dual-propeller outboards.
The new DF300B has a maximum output of 300PS and features many of Suzuki’s world-renowned advanced technologies, which include:
- Suzuki’s unique Dual Prop System, which efficiently converts engine output into forward thrust by combining two contra-rotating propellers.
- 2-Stage Gear Reduction, in which the gear ratio is first reduced in between the crankshaft and the driveshaft (1st stage reduction), and then reduced again within the gear case (2nd stage reduction), to deliver powerful propulsion by rotating large diameter propellers that have high thrust efficiency.
- Compact, 4,390cm3 four-stroke V6 engine that boasts maximum output of 300PS with regular petrol.
The DF300B is a large capacity outboard motor which was developed to meet the needs of customers who wish to have the same advanced technologies as Suzuki’s flagship DF350A outboard installed on a 300-horsepower class unit.
The main benefit of combining the highly-efficient contra-rotating propellers and a compact 2-Stage Gear Reduction, is that it is able to deliver high propulsion power, meaning the DF300B can be rigged onto heavier boats. With the use of regular (91 RON) petrol as its fuel, it can be offered to customers in more countries and regions, as well as a wider range of usage from business to leisure.
Daisuke Kawatari, General Manager for Suzuki Motor Corporation’s European Liaison Office, said, “The DF300B is the latest addition to our GEKI series of dual-propeller outboards and reinforces Suzuki’s position at the forefront of the large horsepower outboard market. We are confident that the DF300B will be a popular model in the European market and that it will make the benefits of the dual-propeller technology available to a new range of boats and customers”.
Details of the new DF300B can be seen for the first time at the Marstrand Boat Show in Sweden (23 – 25 August) then at the Oslo Boat Show in Norway (5 – 8 September). A press conference will be held for local media at Marstrand on Friday 23 August. Suzuki Distributors throughout Europe will then be displaying the new outboard as part of a DF300B tour at the following boat shows:
France: Cannes Boat Show (10 – 15 September)

UK: Southampton Boat Show (13 – 22 September)
- Press conference at 12.45pm on 13 September
- 1 x DF300B will be displayed (Black)

- 2 x DF300B will be displayed (Black & White)
Production of the DF300B will commence at Suzuki’s Kosai Plant in Japan from the end of 2019 and a further update on availability and pricing will be issued in each market in due course. The DF300B will also be sold alongside the existing DF300AP, which very much still has its place within the range and within the marketplace due to its lighter weight and different performance characteristics.
