New 425hp Yamaha 5.6L V-8 (May 22, 2018)
New 4.6L V-8 outboards by Mercury marine – Verado/FourStroke/ProXS/SeaPro
On May 18, 2018, Mercury marine announced the following new line-up of 4.6L V-8 Outboard Engines:
- New 250 and 300hp Verado
The two new 4.6L V-8 250 and 300hp Verados replace the previous six-cylinder supercharged models with which they have no longer any similarity.
Mercury claims that the new Verados are faster at 2mph, with 8% more fuel economy. In addition, noise and vibration have been reduced further due to the new generation of AMS.
- New 250 and 300hp FourStroke
The new 4.6L V-8 250 and 300hp Four Stroke deliver more torque, especially at 3500-4000 rpm. They have higher displacement and are lighter in their class, with 9% more torque at the mid-range rpm.
- New 225, 250 and 300hp SeaPro commercial engines
The new engines of the SeaPro family are made of very durable materials and are designed for every commercial application, ideal for hard long-lasting use, providing enormous torque at low rpm.
- New 200, 225, 250 and 300 hp Pro XS
The new 200-300hp 4.6 L V-8 Pro XS engines completely replace the 2-stroke Optimax, the production of which is intended to stop. The new engines weigh 229 kilos; they are faster with rapid acceleration and offer 16% more economy at cruising speeds.
